About Kim

Kim U-Ming (dharma name: Pema Yangchen) delights in her unique profession as a Personal Coach and Energy Therapist.  Her work is spirit, soul, and intuitively guided.  Sensitive from the initial stages of life, she has studied and practised Energy Therapy since she was seventeen years of age.  She has a keen affinity for nature and animals.  Her life path has taken her within and without on a quest for personal truth.  In addition to her natural healing gifts, she has attained her education through: The Barbara Ann Brennan School of Healing Science, Erickson Coaching International, The Robert Jaffe School of Energy Mastery, The Upledger Institute, The Surya Institute, The Canadian Association of Specialized Kinesiology, Healing Touch Program, and Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster, Surgical Support.

Additionally, Kim has studied advanced Energy Therapy with global healers such as Dr. AlixSandra Parness, Julie Motz and Nan Blake, amongst others.

Explorations in Tibetan Buddhism, Christianity, Vedānta, and Animism, have inspired much of her travel.   She embraces unity and commonality beyond traditions.

Kim has been initiated by His Eminence the 12th Khentin Tai Situ Rinpoche, The Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche and Lama FoFu amongst other teachers (Chöd, Phowa, etc) since 1994. In 1995, Lama FoFu invited Kim into preparation to take over her gong jin gang lineage.

Kim particularly enjoys Tony Gatlif and Emir Kusturica films.   Her vast musical interests range from soundtracks by great composers such as Philip Glass and Jonny Greenwood to alternative rock, classical, Lisa Gerard, Anuradha Paudwal, and Icelandic bands.   In her spare time she may be found horseback riding, in the forest, or keeping those skis on in British Columbia’s Winter Wonderland slopes.
